Accountant

Are you seeking to deepen your expertise in accounting by working with industry-leading financial practices? As an Accountant at Spectrum, you will prepare and analyze general ledger accounts and assigned functional areas using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Your efforts will ensure accuracy and compliance, contributing directly to Spectrum’s financial reliability and operational excellence. 

How You’ll Make an Impact   

• Prepare month-end journal entries from detail accounting transactions over the calendar month 
  
• Review variances both in trends and to budget and be prepared to present the financial statements to the supervisor 
  
• Provide insight into the variances including communicating with personnel on accounting related issues, completing monthly variance reports, supporting the audit process, and providing specific required analysis on assigned areas 
  
• Affirm revenue validations and perform revenue analysis 
  
• Complete additional required filings for assigned areas 
  
• Update all required schedules for maintaining the balance sheet 
  
• Ensure compliance with SOX controls 
  
• Review transactional level detail including accounts payable transactions

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum

   
Required Qualifications   

Education  

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field 
  

Experience   

• 2 years of general ledger accounting work experience 
  

Skills  

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English and communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner  
  
• Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks, prioritize and organize effectively, and work with moderate supervision 
  
• Ability to read, write and to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner  
  
• Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)  
  
• Knowledge of cable television products and services
