What We Need
Corpay is currently looking to hire a Vice President of Technology within our Payments division. This position falls under our Corporate Payables line of business and is in Sacramento, CA. In this role, we are looking for an accomplished and strategic Vice President of Technology to lead the next phase of growth and innovation. This is a rare opportunity to own the technical direction and engineering operations of a mission-critical platform—with the autonomy to shape how we deliver high-value, high-quality software at scale.
As VP of Technology, you will be accountable for the engineering execution and operational excellence of Corpay’s flagship platform—shaping technical strategy, elevating team performance, and delivering continuous innovation. In this executive role, you will partner closely with business, product, and operational leaders to translate strategic objectives into technical and business outcomes.
You’ll oversee cross-functional development teams based in the U.S., India, and Europe, while nurturing a core engineering hub in Elk Grove. If you’re passionate about modern cloud architecture, scalable software practices, and building enterprise-grade SaaS platforms, we’d love to hear from you.

How We Work:
As a VP of Technology, you will be expected to work out of our office in Sacramento, CA. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

Role Responsibilities:The responsibilities of the role will include:
Engineering Leadership & Delivery Outcomes
  • Owning engineering execution across platform development, including roadmap alignment, sprint velocity, release predictability, and quality KPIs.
  • Ensuring Agile and iterative delivery practices are effectively applied across teams through engineering leadership, coaching, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Empowering Engineering Managers and Scrum Masters to run effective teams while holding them accountable to clear delivery metrics and business objectives.
  • Removing structural impediments to velocity and quality by advocating for tooling, process improvements, and technical investments.
Technology Strategy
  • Defining and evolve a scalable technical architecture leveraging AWS, microservices, and modern development stacks including React (front-end) and Node.js (back-end).
  • Driving cloud-native adoption, infrastructure reliability, and platform modernization initiatives.
  • Promoting secure-by-design, testable, observable systems that meet compliance and operational standards.
Team Development & Culture
  • Leading and grow a talented, distributed engineering organization with a strong culture of trust, collaboration, and ownership.
  • Supporting career development, coaching, and succession planning for technical leaders across locations.
  • Fostering a values-driven engineering culture that thrives on feedback, transparency, and continuous learning.
Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Working closely with General Managers, Product, Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of technical delivery with customer and commercial goals.
  • Contributing to strategic planning cycles and ensure team and individual goals are aligned with broader business objectives
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 10 years in engineering leadership roles, with 5 years in executive or senior leadership (e.g., Director, VP).
  • Proven success delivering large-scale, cloud-native SaaS platforms for enterprise-grade customers.
  • Strong expertise with microservices, containerization, and serverless architectures.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and experience implementing delivery systems that produce predictable outcomes at scale.
  • Strong technical fluency in modern front-end frameworks like React and back-end environments such as Node.js, built on TypeScript.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead distributed, multicultural teams across time zones.
Preferred Experience:
  • Familiarity with emerging AI-powered development tools (e.g., generative coding, automated testing, CI/CD intelligence).
  • Prior experience in FinTech, payments, or enterprise spend management software.
  • Familiarity with secure software development, data privacy, and compliance frameworks.

  • This salary range is provided for locations which require such disclosure. Where a position or applicant may fall in a particular wage range depends on a number of factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience training licenses and certifications (if applicable), and other business and organization needs. The disclosed range has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic markets. At Corpay it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. The estimate of the minimum and maximum salary range is $222,600-$260,000.
