Corpay is looking to hire a Payment Processing Specialist within our Paymerang division. This position falls under our Corporate Payments line of business and is located in Richmond, VA. In this role, you will be The Payment Processing Specialist who assists in the payment automation process through daily interaction (inbound and outbound) with suppliers of Corpay customers to resolve unprocessed payments. The Open Card team is responsible for placing calls on our customer’s behalf to report unprocessed payments and assist with payment completion. This position requires excellent attention to detail, multitasking ability, and advanced phone and customer service skills. You will report directly to the Operations Manager and regularly collaborate with other internal departments.

The responsibilities of the role will include:
- Supporting customers (and suppliers) through outbound and inbound phone calls to resolve unprocessed or unsettled transactions.
- Educating suppliers on payment processes.
- Manage escalated issues, including misapplied payments and complex payment scenarios.
- Verifying contact information and remit-to information for processing of electronic payments. Accurately enter information into the database.
- Maintaining accurate notes of supplier contact and reach-out attempts.
- Working closely with the Recovery team to coordinate refunds and reissues.
- Conduct training with new hires.
- Adhering to strict compliance procedures and maintain confidentiality related to the position.
- Performing miscellaneous projects and duties as assigned.
- High school education or equivalent required. College coursework preferred.
- Minimum of one year of customer service or data entry with customer contact experience.
- Intermediate computer skills, and intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
- Skills in Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- Active Listening and Speaking— Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
- Talking to others to convey information and procedures effectively.
- Data Entry and Verification — Ability to accurately record, verify, audit, and follow-up on data within specified time frames.
- Administrative — Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records in a database, and other office procedures and terminology. Technology— Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including applications and data-driven tools. Ability to learn Corpay systems and software.
