The Coronado Unified School District is looking for a skilled and passionate educational leader to join the high school team in the role of Assistant Principal, Coronado High School. Coronado High School (CHS) is a four-year public high school located in the island village of Coronado near downtown San Diego. CHS is the only high school in the Coronado Unified School District and has an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students. Our students are high-performing; they consistently test in the top 5% of students attending schools across the county. Coronado School of the Arts (CoSA) is a school within a school on campus. Students enrolled in CoSA are able to take their academic classes at the high school and one to three hours each day in conservatory classes.
The administrative team, composed of a principal and two assistant principals, serve, and support a dedicated and inspiring staff, kind, and curious students, and involved families and community members. They are committed to providing a highly engaging, rigorous, and challenging educational program that prepares the district’s students well to learn, work, and thrive as citizens with cultural awareness and responsibility. We view parents as partners in the educational process and are looking for a candidate who can communicate well with parents and work with them toward the success of their children. Our students are offered a wide range of elective, athletic, and extra-curricular experiences. The assistant principal will be supporting student sporting events and ASB activities as well as the day-to-day program.
