Quality Inspector
Coronado Manufacturing is seeking a Quality Inspector to assist with the inspection of parts for the company’s aerospace, defense, and space customers. The ideal candidate will have 3 years’ experience as an inspector in aerospace manufacturing, possess a detailed understanding of AS9100 processes, and be able to inspect parts in a dynamic environment. The Quality Inspector will conduct part inspections in the quality department and on the manufacturing floor. Our team of highly skilled mill and lathe machinists, inspectors, and programmers manufactures tight tolerance, precision-machined, mission-critical parts, delivered on time. Coronado operates from our AS9100 Rev. D certified facility in Sun Valley, California, 3 miles north of the Burbank Airport.
Skills and Experience Required
- Experience as an inspector for an aerospace, defense, or space quality department producing tight-tolerance machined parts (with outside processing).
- Expertise inspecting parts via manual (surface plate, hand tools, etc.) and automated (CMM, Keyence) inspection methods utilizing AS9100 quality standards.
- Able to read blueprints and translate into inspection requirements.
- Excellent people and team skills; able to work collaboratively as a member of the quality team, and work collaboratively with machinists, programmers, and others.
- Capable of utilizing bubble drawing software for first article inspection reports.
- Excellent computer skills/capabilities.
Job Duties will include:
- Performing in-process and/or outbound dimensional and visual inspections of parts.
- Using measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, pin gages, thread plugs, thread ring gages, surface plates, optical comparator, CMM, and visual inspection system (Keyence) to produce manual and electronic inspection reports.
- Producing first article inspection reports per AS9102.
- Basic knowledge of customers' DQCR/DSQR programs and website portals.
- Understanding of geometrical tolerancing and dimensional measurements.
- Strong computer proficiency including expertise in MS office, manufacturing and inspection software, and use of software/technology to assist in documentation processes.
- Evaluating and adhering to all contractual requirements of customer purchase orders.
Education & Experience Required for Quality Inspector:
- 3 years hands-on experience as a quality inspector at an aerospace (or defense/space) manufacturer.
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
