CNC Lathe Setup Specialist

Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled CNC Lathe Setup expert to join our manufacturing team. This is a hands-on setup role for an experienced CNC lathe setup expert, producing high-quality, tight-tolerance aerospace, military, and space parts. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency.

Our team of highly skilled mill and lathe machinists, inspectors, and programmers delivers tight tolerance, precision-machined, mission-critical parts delivered on time. Coronado operates out of our AS9100 Rev. D certified facility in Sun Valley, California, 3 miles north of the Burbank Airport.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setup: Set up Haas CNC lathes for complex production parts, including selecting tools, cutting jaws/collets, offsets, and machine configuration.
• Precision Machining: Operate Haas CNC lathes to produce parts according to specifications and with tolerances as tight as .0002”.
• Quality First: Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, comparators, molds, gauges, and other precision instruments to ensure quality standards are met.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve programming, tooling, and machine operation issues to keep production on schedule.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production runs, machine maintenance, and tooling changes.
• Collaboration: Work with engineers, programmers, machinists, and the quality team to improve processes. Help train machinists.
• Process/Safety: Adhere to AS9100 processes, safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC programming or machining preferred.
• Proven experience as a CNC lathe setup expert, with a strong understanding of G-code and 7-10 years of experience.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience with HAAS CNC lathes and tooling.
• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to safety.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
