Director of Communications
Position Summary
Cornwall Manor is seeking a creative, organized, and experienced Director of Communications to lead content creation, digital marketing, publications, and public relations initiatives. This position plays a key role in telling the Cornwall Manor story, highlighting residents and employees, promoting campus life, and building strong community relationships.
Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement, this individual will oversee communications across digital, print, and media channels while supporting organizational initiatives and special events.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop engaging stories, photography, and video content featuring residents, employees, and campus life.
- Manage website content, blog posts, SEO initiatives, and digital marketing campaigns.
- Oversee Cornwall Manor’s social media presence, including content, engagement, and paid advertising.
- Write, design, and edit newsletters, publications, calendars, advertisements, brochures, and other marketing materials.
- Coordinate internal communications, leadership correspondence, press releases, and media relations.
- Maintain the Crisis Communications Plan and support organization-wide communications initiatives.
- Recruit, orient, and coordinate volunteers, maintain records, and plan volunteer recognition activities.
- Collaborate with departments to promote programs, events, and organizational initiatives while overseeing brand standards including visual identity across all communications, publications, signage, and digital platforms.
- Experience in video production, including concept development, filming, editing, and post-production, with the ability to create engaging, professional-quality content for websites, social media, public relations, and organizational communications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field required.
- Five or more years of public relations or related experience preferred.
- Excellent writing, editing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with photography, website management, social media management tools, graphic design applications, and digital communication platforms.
- Proficiency in video editing software and production techniques.
- Exceptional written, verbal, editorial, and interpersonal communication skills.
