Responsibilities
- Greet clients and visitors warmly, ensuring a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
- Answer phone calls with proper phone etiquette, directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars for attorneys and legal staff.
- Perform clerical duties including filing, data entry, and maintaining organized records.
- Conduct legal research as needed to support attorneys in case preparation.
- Assist in drafting legal documents and proofreading materials for accuracy.
- Utilize Clio for research purposes and case management.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with legal standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth office operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in legal studies is a plus.
- Experience in a legal environment preferred, particularly in family law.
- Strong interviewing skills to gather necessary information from clients effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in legal drafting.
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as Clio is desirable.
- Detail-oriented with strong proofreading abilities to ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Proficient in clerical tasks including filing, data entry, and office management software.
- Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure while managing multiple tasks.
