Operate under the guidance of the Regional Program Supervisor, creating a supportive atmosphere that promotes the personal, social, and intellectual growth of residents.
Enable our senior residents to flourish by offering educational opportunities and essential resources.
Ensure that our senior residents have the means to thrive in their own homes through our array of services.
Leverage the strengths of individuals by providing assistance, coordinating services, and engaging in community outreach initiatives.
Additional duties will include:
Empowering seniors from low-income to thrive by providing After School education and resources.
Developing a comprehensive understanding of residents (conduct needs assessments, community meetings, surveys, etc.) to offer residents appropriate services and resources.
Planning and coordinating special services, events, and activities for residents as requested.

This position will perform a variety of duties involved in developing and implementing a resident program focusing on resident self-actualization and empowerment.
Essential Functions:
- Develops a comprehensive understanding of residents (conduct needs assessments, community meetings, surveys, etc.) in order to offer residents, the opportunity to assist their community and guide them towards appropriate services and resources.
- Assists in creating, organizing, and instructing a recreation program for seniors, including arts and crafts, and special interest activities.
- Engages in recreational activities to include active and passive participants.
- Offers instructional assistance/ classes to promote growth and development for all residents such as: Adult Computer Literacy: Will offer adult computer classes on a regular basis. The classes will focus on fundamental uses of the computer such as e-mail, online research, online shopping, using Facebook, etc.
- Educational Speakers: Will seek out and engage speakers from the community who could provide residents with useful information on various topics. For example, a representative from the Fire Department could speak on fire safety in the home and the building; someone from the Red Cross or other health organizations could speak on heart disease or diabetes; a spokesman from the Police Departments could speak on personal safety, safe driving, etc.
- ESL Classes: Should be offered at sites where there is a substantial population of non-English speakers.
- Direct Financial Assistance: Will assist residents in signing up for programs for utility discounts, telephone discounts, cell phone service discounts and many more programs available for them.
- Plans and coordinates special services, events, and activities for residents as requested. Some examples of popular activities include Bingo, Monthly Birthday parties, coffee hours, BBQs, and Holiday Celebrations for Mother’s Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
- Establish linkages with agencies and service providers in the community who will provide direct services to residents.
- Communicates and enforces procedures to residents for the purpose of ensuring their understanding and the potential consequences of violation.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive list of available community resources (employment, education, social service agencies, etc.) for residents.
- Assist residents with applications for benefits and entitlement programs.
- Educate staff and property management team about the needs of and services available for residents.
- Coordinate all program services, use of site facilities and equipment with the other site management team members and supervisors.
- Maintains community room equipment, work area, computer lab. Community Room maintenance includes (but is not limited to); wiping down all surface areas at the end of shift; disposing of litter left behind; maintain clean and organized materials and workspace.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed documentation on all services provided.
- Monitors individual residents, community room, recreational activities, etc. for ensuring a safe and positive community environment.
- Report child, dependent adult and elder abuse and neglect according to state law.
- Reports observations and incidents (e.g. discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, etc.) for communicating information to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain mutually respectful, collaborative relationships with staff and residents.
- Submits monthly check requests and maintain records/documentation/receipts of monies spent.
- Submits weekly reports via email, detailing the weeks activities and attendance
- Submits a monthly calendar prior to the beginning of the following month.

- Work flexible hours, including occasional evening work.
Responsibility:
Responsibilities include working independently to lead, guide, and/or coordinate others, operating within a defined budget. There is some opportunity to significantly impact the organization environment.
Working Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 15% sitting, 20% walking, and 65% standing. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Experience:
- Job related experience is desired
- Experience working with fragile and diverse populations
- Computer skills including MS Word, Power Point and Excel
- Public Speaking and Presentation Skills
- Any combination of experience, education or training that will predict the ability of the incumbent to successfully fulfill the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Languages - English/Korean or English/Spanish
