Role Purpose

The IT Support Technician will be responsible for providing onsite and remote support for end-users at Corning's Concord plant. This role performs technical duties and activities within prescribed time frames in the manufacturing and office environments supporting a range of equipment including PCs, printers, servers, limited network/RF support, etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the acquisition, installation, and maintenance of hardware and software technology.
• Responds to requests and incident tickets for first level support to users (onsite and remote) on any IT related matter. Escalation to levels 2 and 3 when applicable.
• Management of spares and assets inventory in the Inventory management tool
• Training of end-users and communication on Corporate IT initiatives, best practices, or any other relevant IT-related topics.
• Participation in any plant IT-related activities on offices and manufacturing systems.
• Proposes and implements solutions to improve and solve routine problems.
• Assist with management of hardware refresh projects - PC's, printers, timeclocks
• Supports new hires onboarding by introducing them to Corning hardware, software, and IT policies.
• Follows standard operating procedures.
• Maintains and ensures confidentiality of information / materials.
• Gives periodic status reports in written and verbal formats.
• Always focused on safety.

Experiences/Education

• Associate degree in IT-related field preferred or High school diploma with equivalent years of experience in a similar role.
• Relevant certifications a plus
• 3 years' experience in an IT support role working with end-users.
• 3 years' experience working with computer hardware and software, including installation and maintenance.

Required Skills

• Technical knowledge of computer hardware, computer software, printers, and peripheral equipment
• Limited knowledge of LAN/WAN equipment and topology
• Advanced knowledge of Windows OS and MS Suite

Desired Skills

• General knowledge of mobile technology.
• General knowledge of "ticketing systems" (ServiceNow)
• Effective organization, and planning skills, with ability to handle changing priorities.
• Excellent communications, interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Must be a self-starter, able to work in team environment and motivate others.

The range for this position is $48,691.00 - $66,951.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
