Company Overview:
Cornet, Inc. is expanding our team and seeking a skilled Backflow Prevention Device Technician to support installation, testing, repair, and maintenance of backflow prevention assemblies for our commercial clients.
Position Summary:
The Backflow Prevention Device Technician will perform certified backflow testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and documentation in compliance with state and local regulations. The ideal candidate has experience with a variety of backflow assemblies and holds relevant state licenses or certifications.
Preferred Licenses & Certifications:
- Virginia DPOR Backflow Prevention Device Worker License (preferred)
- West Virginia Backflow Certification (preferred)
- Maryland Backflow Tester Certification (preferred)
- Additional plumbing or cross-connection certifications are a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Perform testing, installation, and repair of backflow prevention devices.
- Maintain accurate records, test reports, and compliance documentation.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot device failures or system issues.
- Communicate findings with customers, inspectors, and internal teams.
- Ensure all work is completed according to state/local codes and safety standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory necessary for daily tasks.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with commercial backflow assemblies.
- Understanding of plumbing systems, cross-connection control, and local code requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned appointments.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
