What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Assistant position at Cornerstone Villa?
Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and implementing activities for residents in nursing home setting and assisted living facility.
- Provide support and companionship to residents during activities.
- Help residents with scheduling and time management to ensure they can participate in desired activities.
- Engage residents in socialization and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Assist with memory care activities for residents with dementia or memory loss.
- Collaborate with other staff members, such as social workers and recreational therapists, to create a comprehensive activity program.
- Maintain documentation of resident participation and progress.
Experience:
- Previous experience working with seniors in a care setting, such as assisted living or nursing home is preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care and memory care techniques.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members.
- Ability to manage schedules and coordinate activities for multiple residents.
- Understanding of the importance of socialization and recreational therapy in senior care.
