Role Overview
We are seeking a results-driven, relationship-focused Business Developer to join our commercial team and drive new business across Tampa and Sarasota. You will be responsible for identifying, prospecting, and closing new commercial landscape maintenance accounts, working with property owners, developers, facility managers, and HOAs. You’ll also work closely with our operations, estimating and service teams to deliver value-based proposals and grow the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a territory/back-yard sales strategy to achieve revenue growth and margin goals.
- Identify, qualify, and secure new commercial landscape maintenance contracts (office parks, retail centers, municipalities, industrial parks, HOAs).
- Build trust-based professional relationships with key decision-makers (property / asset managers, general contractors, developers, board members).
- Conduct site visits, assess client needs, prepare and present value-based proposals & service agreements.
- Collaborate with estimating, operations and service delivery teams to ensure smooth transition of new accounts and ensure client satisfaction.
- Track sales activity, pipeline, and revenue forecast using CRM and provide accurate reporting.
- Participate in industry events, networking opportunities, trade shows and local business groups to raise company visibility and generate leads.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of B2B sales or business development experience; commercial services or landscape industry experience strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong communicator and presenter with the ability to build relationships and influence decision-makers.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Experience working with CRM systems, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and sales tools.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the Tampa & Sarasota markets (site visits, client meetings).
