Addiction Counselor (ADT) – Cornerstone Treatment Center – Baltimore, MD

About Us

Cornerstone Treatment Center is a new opioid treatment program (OTP) in Baltimore, MD dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence‐based care for individuals with substance use disorders. We are seeking a highly motivated Alcohol & Drug Trainee (ADT) with real clinical experience to join our team and support our mission of delivering person‐centered, trauma‐informed treatment.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Services

• Facilitate group counseling sessions, including IOP‐level groups, using evidence‐based modalities
• Conduct individual counseling sessions focused on recovery, relapse prevention, and behavioral change
• Complete comprehensive assessments, biopsychosocials, and ongoing clinical evaluations
• Develop person‐centered treatment plans and update them according to COMAR timelines
• Provide education, support, and motivational interventions to clients and families

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate documentation, including:
• • Progress notes
  • Treatment plans
  • Treatment plan reviews
  • Group notes
  • Individual session notes
  • Discharge summaries
• Ensure all documentation meets Maryland BHA/COMAR 10.47, CARF OTP standards, and clinic policy
• Follow all confidentiality, HIPAA, and ethical guidelines
• Participate in clinical supervision and required training

Collaboration

• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including medical, nursing, and clinical leadership
• Participate in case conferences, treatment team meetings, and performance improvement activities

Required Qualifications

• Active ADT credential with the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors & Therapists
• Experience facilitating group counseling, preferably in:
• • IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program)
  • SUD group therapy
  • Relapse prevention groups
  • Psychoeducation groups
• Demonstrated ability to complete clinical documentation that meets regulatory standards
• Strong understanding of person‐centered care, trauma‐informed practice, and motivational interviewing
• Ability to work with diverse populations and maintain professional boundaries
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

(Not required but strongly preferred)

• Experience working in an OTP or methadone clinic
• Familiarity with COMAR 10.47, CARF standards, and Medicaid documentation requirements
• Experience with EHR systems used in behavioral health or OTP settings
