Location: Irving, TX | Onsite 

Compensation & Schedule

• $21.00–$23.00 per hour

• Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (30-minute lunch, two 15-minute breaks)

• Temp-to-Hire (W2)

Role Impact

The Loan Accounting Specialist supports the accuracy and integrity of customer loan accounts by processing monetary and non-monetary transactions in a timely manner. This role directly impacts customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation through precise account maintenance, payment processing, and issue resolution. Success is defined by strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently in a fast-paced financial services environment.

Job Duties

• Research, process, and post incoming payments from customers and third parties

• Reverse and reapply cash and non-cash adjustments in accordance with departmental business rules

• Prepare and submit daily batch uploads and monetary transaction entries while maintaining proper records and controls

• Evaluate bank returns and process NSF (non-sufficient funds), stop payments, and closed accounts

• Research and resolve payment disputes including missing, misapplied, unauthorized, or overpayments

• Review and process customer refunds to ensure accurate accounting and policy compliance

• Maintain detailed system documentation for tracking, reconciliation, and audit purposes

• Respond to internal and external inquiries within established service level agreements (SLAs)

• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments to improve workflows and operational efficiency

Minimum Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in financial services, banking, loan servicing, or related industry

• Experience performing account maintenance, payment posting, reconciliation, and data entry in a transaction-based environment

• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail with proficiency in Microsoft Office and intermediate Microsoft Excel

Equipment & Work Environment

• Office-based setting in Irving, TX

• Standard computer equipment and loan servicing/accounting systems (Shaw Retail preferred)

• High-volume, deadline-driven environment requiring multitasking and accuracy

• Collaborative team environment requiring professionalism and adaptability

Preferred Skills

• Experience working within Shaw Retail or similar loan servicing/accounting platforms

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks while meeting deadlines

• Strong customer service orientation with clear verbal and written communication skills
