APPOINTMENT SCHEDULER

Location: Irving, TX | Onsite

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

• $18-$20/hr. based on experience

• Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

• Employment Type: W2, Temp to Hire

ROLE IMPACT

The Appointment Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and managing patient appointments for a growing healthcare organization. This position plays a vital role in ensuring provider schedules are optimized, patient information is accurate, and communication between patients, providers, and referring offices is seamless. Success is measured by schedule utilization, accuracy, and delivery of outstanding customer service in every interaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage high-volume inbound and outbound scheduling calls across multiple providers with professionalism and accuracy.

• Proactively fill schedule openings, identify underutilized time slots, and communicate opportunities for improvement.

• Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and medical documentation before scheduling.

• Build and maintain positive relationships with referral offices and internal teams to enhance scheduling efficiency.

• Deliver excellent customer service by resolving scheduling conflicts and ensuring a smooth patient experience.

• Support general administrative and scheduling needs for the practice and centralized scheduling team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• 2–3 years of recent experience in medical or dental scheduling, patient coordination, or a healthcare call center role.

• Good job stability (a minimum of 1 year at all previous roles)

• Must live within a 30 mile radius of Irving, TX 75062

• Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency with scheduling systems and Microsoft Office applications.

• Detail-oriented with a proven ability to manage complex scheduling and patient information accurately.

CORE TOOLS & SYSTEMS

• Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)

• Practice management or scheduling software (e.g., Dentrix, Open Dental, Epic, or equivalent)

• Insurance verification tools

• Multi-line call handling or contact center systems

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Experience in oral surgery, dental, or specialty medical scheduling.

• Proven success in improving scheduling efficiency or appointment conversion rates.

• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
