As the largest outpatient behavioral health agency in Montgomery County, we offer years of evidence based treatment experience to our consumers and practical training to our staff. Our robust training program allows therapists to develop and grow in the position and provides the basis for upward mobility within the agency.

Responsibilities of the Therapist

• Provide services and supports, such as individual and group therapy, that lessen or eliminate the debilitating symptoms of mental illness and minimize or prevent acute episodes of the illness
• Provide general case management services during meetings as required. For example: filling out paperwork, assisting in scheduling appointments and other general community support services
• Implement theory-based interventions to assist clients in overcoming functional impairments and maximize their individual potential
• Assists in managing emergency and crisis situations both on-site and in the community, through the use of risk screening and assessments and collaboration with other team members and community providers

Qualifications of the Therapist

• Master’s degree in Social Work or related degree, licensure in State of Maryland (LMSW, LCSW-C, LGPC, LCPC)
• Experience providing mental health services and/or addictions counseling is required
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record (as determined by HR) required. Must have access to a personal vehicle and be willing to use it for work purposes. May be required to transport clients in personal vehicle.

Eligible for health care (single and family) the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment. Must work a minimum of 20 hours per week to be eligible for benefits and leave accruals. 403(b) retirement plan with employer match available. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position.
