Who we are looking for:

Cornerstone Servicing is seeking a SVP, Default Servicing. This role is responsible for oversight related to the servicing of mortgage loans that are in default.

• Location: Galleria Area of Houston, TX

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports, and provide clarity around priorities and goals
• Work across functional areas to ensure collaboration of shared goals
• Ensure effective default management strategies to maximize asset value, including collection efforts, loss mitigation, bankruptcy, and timely foreclosure management
• Ensure timely and complete filing of default related claims to mitigate financial risk and ensure timely compensation for loss mitigation activities
• Manages a team of VP and Directors ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal requirements workflow
• Ensure departmental training is completed as required, manage productivity and effectiveness, and ensure timely evaluation of team member performance
• Ensure defaulted loans are serviced in compliance with federal, state, agency and GSE requirements
• Drive technology and process improvements that create efficiencies and maximize team member performance
• Ensure effective First Line of Defense controls (including QC) and KPI’s are in place and periodically report on compliance with those metrics
• Continually improve the default administrative functions; directing projects and investigating and resolving gaps in functionality
• Perform other job-duty related issues as assigned

What you’ll need to be successful:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience
• Minimum 7 years of experience in mortgage industry
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Default Administration
• Must have minimum of 10 years of leadership experience/and or management
• Experience in First Line of Defense control implementation
• Leadership and proficient knowledge of federal regulations, state laws, ad GSE/government requirements
• Solid analytical skills with the ability to exercise prudent judgment to prioritize a complex workload with time sensitive deadlines
• Experience in workflow management and KPI reporting
• Exceptional organization and time management a must
• Results oriented and ability to adapt and be comfortable with change based on the business needs
• Exceptional interpersonal skills in addition to verbal/written communication
• Ability to work through stressful situations professionally
• Must display Personal Accountability
• Attention to detail
