  • Prepare, analyze, and interpret complex financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and cash flow analysis.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, journal entries, and accrual accounting to maintain precise financial records.
  • Lead internal audits and assist with external auditing procedures to ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) standards and securities law.
  • Oversee regulatory reporting requirements for governmental agencies and non-profit organizations such as LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs.
  • Utilize advanced accounting software like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms for efficient bookkeeping and financial management.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities to aid strategic decision-making.
  • Mentor junior staff members by providing guidance on technical accounting issues, ensuring adherence to GAAP, and fostering professional growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects involving corporate finance, private equity investments, or nonprofit accounting initiatives.

  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP standards, technical accounting practices, and regulatory compliance including SOX requirements.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or equivalent systems.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, account reconciliation, and journal entries.
  • Experience with LIHTC programs, governmental accounting standards, non-profit accounting practices, and securities law compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability in financial report writing and interpretation to communicate complex data clearly.
  • Expertise in cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement preparation for diverse organizations.
  • Skilled in account analysis for accounts payable/receivable management and general ledger reconciliation processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills combined with a solid foundation in auditing procedures and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Effective mentoring capabilities to develop team members’ technical skills while fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools for detailed financial analysis.
