Floating Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY:

The Floating Maintenance Technicians maintain the upkeep of the building, fixtures and residential spaces of the property. They work with attention to detail in order to ensure the property is in top condition. If you have effective time management, a positive attitude, and construction knowledge, you are an ideal candidate.  They will be sent to properties within a portfolio that are short staffed or that need to assist on specific projects.

CLASSIFICATION:

Full-Time, Hourly/Non-Exempt

SHIFT:

Tuesday - Saturday 9 am-6 pm, Work on-call as scheduled, weekend shifts, and overtime as necessary

COMPENSATION:

$20-$23 per hour, eligible for monthly commissions and quarterly bonuses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  

• Respond to resident/management service requests for occupied and vacant units
• Repair/Replace appliances, plumbing and air conditioning/heating/electrical systems as needed
• Identify and perform routine preventative maintenance assignments
• Inspect and repair vacant units and prepare for move-ins
• Work on-call as scheduled, weekend shifts, and overtime as necessary and approved by manager
• Perform tasks and operate machinery in a safe manner and in compliance with safety procedures
• Complete grounds work, such as grounds pick up, sweeping, and light landscaping
• Perform other duties as requested to support property operations

• High school Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years' general residential maintenance experience
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and energy management systems
• Certifications/licenses as required by local, state, or other regulations
• Ability to work on-call as scheduled and work weekends and afterhours as necessary, Tuesday-Saturday schedule
• Strong  communication and customer service skills
• Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation to travel to multiple sites within bay area portfolio

 Preferred
