Basic Job Description
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Assist patients to exam rooms and obtain complete and accurate vital signs.
· Obtain and document all pertinent information in patient’s charts using EHR system prior to examination
· Anticipate, and assist in minor surgical procedures.
· Maintain timely patient flow and room availability.
· Maintain patient safety and confidentiality.
· Clean, stock and maintain exam rooms.
· Participate in clinic duties such as cleaning and sterilizing instruments and ordering supplies.
· Maintain and monitor all equipment used for patient care and testing. Report any discrepancy to supervisor.
· Ensure appropriate handling and accurate documentation of all medications ordered by the provider.
· Knowledgeable with referral system and ensures accurate and timely follow through with all referrals generated.
Qualifications and Skills
· Bilingual – English/Spanish preferred
· 1 year of on the job training in back office procedures
· Knowledge of Medical terminology and knowledge of CPT/ICD 10
· Ability to type accurately and comfortable with computers – experience with EMR/EHR
· Strict attention to detail and ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively
· Understand and observe legal concepts (e.g. HIPAA, confidentiality)
· Work under pressure, within time constraints. Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.
· Exhibit a professional and positive demeanor.
Salary : $20
