Position Overview

As the Sales Director for US Business, you will be the key architect and implementer of our company’s commercial strategy in the U.S. market. You will oversee all U.S. focused sales operations, and manage existing sales channels while actively developing new channels and cultivating client relationships. Your primary objective is to ensure the steady growth of our market share, revenue, and profitability in the United States. You are expected to possess extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, proven experience in U.S. pharmaceutical sales, and a solid understanding of softgel capsules.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership & Planning:
  • Develop, communicate, and execute comprehensive sales strategy for the U.S. market to achieve the company’s financial and market share objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new opportunities and adapt sales tactics to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Be responsible for overall U.S. business sales forecasting, budget planning, and management to ensure efficient allocation of resources.
  • Serve as the key communication bridge between domestic departments (Production, Quality, R&D, Registration, etc.) and U.S. clients, ensuring timely, high-quality, and compliant supply of products to the U.S. market.
  1. Client & Market Relationship Management:
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key U.S. clients in person, including Humanwell Group’s U.S. subsidiaries, major distributors/wholesalers, retail chains (supermarkets, large pharmacy chains).
  • Develop a deep understanding of client needs and challenges, providing tailored solutions to foster long-term, and mutually trustful partnerships.
  • Represent the company at U.S. industry conferences, exhibitions, and academic events to enhance brand presence and product recognition in the market.
  1. Commercial Operations & Compliance:
  • Ensure all sales activities strictly adhere to U.S. FDA regulations, pharmaceutical industry codes of conduct, and other relevant laws.
  • Facilitate coordination between U.S. clients and the Wuhan-based production and quality departments, and assist clients with inventory management-related matters in the U.S.
  1. Market Intelligence & R&D Support:
  • Assist the R&D team in project initiation process for new products targeting the U.S. market.
  • Regularly research market trends and competitive landscapes within the North American CMO/CDMO sector, identifying opportunities and developing differentiated entry strategies.
  • Conduct regular business presentations at the headquarters in China.



Qualifications & Requirements

  1. Education & Experience:
  • A master’s degree or higher is required, with a preference for majors in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Business, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including at least 3 years of on-the-ground pharmaceutical sales experience in the United States.
  • Experience in U.S. market sales of softgel or oral solid dosage prescription drugs is highly preferred.
  • A proven track record of successfully supporting new product launches in the U.S. and rapidly gaining market share.
  • Experience in collaborating with major U.S. pharmaceutical distributors, large retail chains (supermarkets), major pharmacy chains, and large healthcare systems.

  • Financial Acumen: Proficient in budget management and financial analysis.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Deep and practical understanding of the legal and regulatory environment of the U.S. pharmaceutical industry.
  • Customer-Centric: Committed to understanding and meeting client needs to build strategic partnerships.
