As an Accounting Specialist, you'll help ensure the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the financial processes that keep projects; and the company moving forward.


From managing accounts payable and reconciliations to supporting month-end close and financial reporting, you'll gain valuable experience while working alongside experienced accounting professionals who are invested in your growth.

What You’ll Do (The Impact You’ll Have)


This role serves as an important part of Cornerstone's financial operations by supporting the Accounting Team and helping ensure accurate, timely, and reliable financial information.


Accounts Payable & Financial Operations

  • Process and manage vendor invoices with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
  • Record and reconcile company credit card transactions
  • Assist with accounts payable processing and vendor communications


Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

  • Assist with weekly and monthly financial reporting
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities
  • Prepare journal entries and assist with account analysis
  • Help maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Support audit preparation and financial documentation requests


Continuous Improvement & Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for accounting procedures and internal controls
  • Assist with payroll support and special accounting projects as needed
  • Build strong relationships with vendors, project teams, and fellow employees
  • Contribute to a collaborative, solutions-focused accounting team

What You Bring


We're looking for professionals who combine technical accounting skills with curiosity, accountability, and a desire to grow.

  • 1 year of accounting experience
  • 1 year of office administrative experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office


Bonus if You Have

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • Construction industry accounting experience
  • Payroll experience
  • Experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)


Compensation

  • Competitive salary: $50,000 – $65,000, depending on experience
  • Performance-based bonus (up to 15%) tied to individual and company results
