What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse position at Cornerstone Family Medicine?
Cornerstone Family Medicine is a family practice with offices in Greer and Taylors, South Carolina.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse you will be responsible for providing support to our providers and practice to ensure the efficient operation within our medical office. You will supervise our medical assistant team, as well as support our providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication. The goal is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner. Dependability is a must!
Responsibilities
- Assist during medical examinations
- Interact with patients & document pertinent medical information
- If bilingual, serve as liaison between patients and medical providers
- Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions
- Perform blood draws, injections, and tests
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders
- Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls (may include phone triage when needed)
Skills
- A friendly disposition
- Proven working experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse in accordance with state regulations
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Knowledge of and respect for HIPPA regulations
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Work together with our health care team to provide optimal patient care
