What are the responsibilities and job description for the Childcare School Assistant position at CORNERSTONE EARLY LEARNING CENTER?
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated hardworking School Assistant to support the daily operations of our early childhood education center. We are seeing a hard worker who is flexible and able to take on different tasks. This role is split into two parts during the day.
8:30-2:00: School Building Aide ~ this will involve cleaning school including bathrooms, organizing, getting snacks and lunches out to classrooms, (no cooking involved), cleaning dishes, laundry, supply restocking and ordering as well as helping teachers when needed for bathroom breaks etc.
2:00-5:30: You will be working in a classroom with children.
Other responsibilities may be subbing in a classroom if a teacher is out sick or on PTO.
Building Aide Responsibilities
- Prepping all snacks and lunches (no cooking required)
- Cleaning school inclding bathrooms daily and deep cleaning 1x a week.
- Ordering and restoking supplies
- Laundry
- Organization
- Helping with bathroom breaks or if a teacher needs an extra hand with something
Responsibilities in the classroom
- Assist lead teachers in implementing educational activities and lesson plans tailored to different age groups, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
- Provide attentive care to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Support children with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap times, and hygiene.
- Engage children in age-appropriate play and learning activities that promote development of social, emotional, and cognitive skills.
- Manage behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and classroom behavior management strategies.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning and play.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's progress and daily activities.
- Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures to ensure a secure environment for children.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or caregiving roles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages is preferred.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and working with children with disabilities is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young children and collaborate within a team setting is essential. Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
