helping individuals and families in need with programs, services, resources, and
support that will enable them to obtain a solid and sustainable quality of life. When
lives are improved, hope is restored, healing begins, and communities can grow
stronger. Cornerstone Connections works with non-custodial parents who have
child support cases in Florida. We address barriers to employment, support, train
individuals and place them into a sustainable job for retention. Cornerstone
utilizes whole family engagement to build strong parental/child relationships.
Employment- Job Readiness Program
The Cornerstone Connections Employment and Job Readiness Program is a
program funded by Orange County on behalf of its Citizens’ Commission for
Children Division in support of Engelwood Neighborhood Center for Families
(NCF). The Employment Connections program provides five days per week, year-
round job search counseling services, to Orange County residents age 18 years
and older. It is designed to address participants’ barriers and prepares them to explore
employment opportunities.
Job Description
The Employment Specialist is responsible for the coordination and implementation
of daily activities in the program. Individual helps participants prepare to obtain or
maintain employment. This position provides but is not limited to job readiness,
education/training, career coaching, job search assistance, resume development,
case management and supportive services designed to enhance the participants’
job readiness skills and their ability to become job-ready and/or employed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
- Conduct eligibility screenings and complete participants enrollment
- Conduct assessments to determine skills and barriers to employment
- Develop an individual employment and career action plan
- Assist in identifying employment needs, career paths and vocational goals
- Provide educational training, workshops sessions, and activities
- Helps identify and connect participants with resources and services to alleviate barriers to employment and overall, well-being
- Conduct and document follow-up, monitor participant progress
- Maintain accurate case notes and files as required - paper and CRM (Salesforce)
- Prepare monthly reports based on caseload
- Conduct outreach activities and build relationships with local community
- Partner to increase program awareness, employment resources and services to participants.
- Attend agency meetings and trainings as required
- Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by leadership as pertains toprogram
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Problem-solving and time-management skills
- Bilingual: Fluent in Spanish and English
- Strong case management, record keeping, and outcome tracking skills
- Experience career coaching, job readiness skills, education or training
- Digital/computer literacy, scheduling, data entry, reporting
- Team player and self-starter
- Ability to adhere to regulations and standards
