The Security & Front Desk Associate is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the facility while also providing a welcoming and professional presence at the front desk. This role combines security monitoring, visitor management, and reception duties to support the mission of Cornerstone Community Outreach in providing a safe and hospitable environment for residents, staff, volunteers, and guests by practicing Trauma-Informed-Care.
Key Responsibilities:
Security Duties:
· Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to ensure safety of staff, residents, and visitors.
· Conduct regular security rounds inside and outside the building.
· Respond promptly to emergencies, disturbances, or safety concerns.
· Enforce organizational policies, including visitor and resident guidelines.
· Maintain accurate logs of incidents, security rounds, and safety concerns.
Front Desk Duties:
· Greet and assist residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors in a professional manner.
· Answer phones, direct calls, and provide information as needed.
· Check in and sign out visitors, ensuring proper identification and compliance with policies.
· Receive deliveries and ensure items are directed to the appropriate staff or department.
· Maintain the front desk area in a clean and organized manner.
· Respect and maintain resident’s rights and confidentiality and demonstrates a caring positive attitude toward all residents, staff and guests
· Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Experience with the unhoused population is required
· Prior experience in security required
· Ability to remain calm and professional in emergency or high-stress situations.
· Basic computer skills (email, word processing, logging reports).
· Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
· Ability to respond quickly in case of emergencies.
· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
