Position Overview
The Principal serves as the chief spiritual and instructional leader of the school, ensuring that all programs, personnel, and practices reflect a Christ‑centered philosophy of education. This role integrates the research based School Leader Model with the school’s mission, guiding staff and students toward academic excellence, spiritual formation, and a culture of discipleship.

Primary Responsibilities
Spiritual & Mission Leadership
- Model Christ like character and integrate biblical truth into decision‑making, communication, and daily interactions.
- Lead the spiritual development of faculty, staff, and students through prayer, encouragement, and participation in worship and ministry activities.
- Ensure that all school policies, programs, and practices align with the school’s Christian mission and Statement of Faith.
Instructional Leadership (Marzano‑Aligned)
- Provide clear direction for improving teaching and learning, using data to monitor student achievement and guide instructional decisions.
- Lead the implementation of a guaranteed and viable curriculum that reflects both academic rigor and biblical worldview integration.
- Conduct regular classroom observations, provide actionable feedback, and support teacher growth through coaching and professional development.
- Promote effective instructional strategies and ensure alignment with school wide goals for student learning.
School Climate & Culture
- Foster a safe, orderly, and nurturing environment grounded in grace, truth, and mutual respect.
- Oversee student discipline using restorative, biblically informed approaches.
- Build a culture of collaboration, unity, and shared mission among staff and families.
Operational & Administrative Leadership
- Oversee daily school operations, including scheduling, supervision, safety procedures, and crisis management.
- Manage budgets, resources, and facilities with integrity and stewardship.
- Maintain clear, timely, and mission‑aligned communication with families, staff, and community partners.
- Collaborate with the governing board on strategic planning, policy development, and long‑term vision.
Essential Job Functions
- Delegates responsibility for various administrative functions to Assistant Principal and other personnel for the purpose of managing the workload more efficiently.
- Evaluates personnel for the purpose of ensuring standards are achieved and performance is maximized.
- Facilitates Christ centered communication between staff, students, families and guardians to problem solve, facilitate solution oriented outcomes, resolve conflicts.
- Manages school related business such as enrollment, staffing, budgeting, scheduling, and more.
- Manage student disciplinary actions, personnel actions or related matters to ensure adherence to school policy as set by administration and Board.
- Represents the school in the wider community in a Christ-like manner, inviting inquiries, welcoming partnerships, and ensuring Cornerstone’s reputation remains above reproach.
Job Requirements - Qualifications
- A mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Agreement with the school’s Statement of Faith and commitment to its mission.
- Experience Required: Minimum 5 years teaching experience required; administrative or supervisory experience required. Valid teaching and principal credentials.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in education or administration preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in school leadership or administration.
- Strong ability and skills in communication, organization, supervision, and conflict resolution.
- Ability to lead instructional improvement using data and research‑based practices.
- Licenses, Certifications, Bonding and or Testing Required: Appropriate Administrative Licensing Credential, Valid Driver’s License and evidence of insurability, Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance.
