Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Classroom Teacher, the Teacher Assistant supports the instructional program by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve classroom and school-wide learning objectives. The Teacher Assistant contributes to a positive and supportive classroom environment, promotes student engagement, and helps ensure the classroom operates smoothly and efficiently.
Reports to: Classroom Teacher and School Administrator
Supports: Classroom Students and Teaching Staff

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
-Support the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and instructional activities.
-Assist with managing student behavior in accordance with school policies and classroom expectations.
-Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
-Foster a safe, respectful, Christ-centered classroom environment where all students feel supported.
-Support the spiritual and academic growth of each child through positive interaction and encouragement.
-Assist in preparing and organizing instructional materials and classroom resources.
-Supervise students during classroom transitions, lunch, recess, and field trips as needed.
-Help maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment.
-Attend required school meetings, trainings, and events.
-Provide feedback to the classroom teacher regarding student progress and behavior.
-Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with students, staff, and families.
-Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
-A heart for working with children and a commitment to serving Christ through education.
-High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant college coursework or degree preferred.
-Prior experience in a classroom or educational setting is highly desirable.
-Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
-Ability to follow directions, take initiative, and adapt to changing classroom needs.
-Willingness to support the mission and values of a Christ-centered educational environment.
