Overview
The Facilities Team Member supports the maintenance, cleanliness, and overall functionality of church buildings and grounds across multiple campuses. This role performs general cleaning, minor repairs, event setup, and other facility-related tasks to ensure a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for all church activities.
I. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
· Perform routine building maintenance and minor repairs across all campus locations
· Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of both interior and exterior spaces
· Clean, disinfect, and restock restrooms daily and as needed
· Clean and sanitize common areas, including tables, counters, and high-touch surfaces
· Follow established cleaning and disinfecting protocols for all facility areas, including sanctuaries, offices, classrooms, kitchens, hallways, and common spaces
· Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and recyclable materials
· Assist with painting, light remodeling, and basic landscaping projects
· Set up and break down rooms for events, meetings, and church functions
· Use the work order and asset management system to track and complete assigned tasks
· Performance of building maintenance and minor repairs throughout all campuses
· Identify and report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or repair needs promptly
· Represent the Facilities Department and the church in a professional, respectful manner consistent with the church’s mission and values
· Perform other duties as assigned
II. Other Duties:
· Travel between campus locations as needed to support facility operations
· Safely operate a motor vehicle to transport equipment, supplies, or materials
· Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment
· Work independently with minimal supervision while managing assigned tasks effectively
· Communicate clearly and work collaboratively with team members and staff
· Demonstrate reliability, initiative, and a willingness to learn
III. Minimum Education and Skill Requirements:
· High School Diploma or GED equivalent
· Valid CT Driver’s License
IV. Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk for long periods of time, stand, bend at waist, sitting kneeling, climbing, walking, and crouching and climbing ladders.
· Ability to push, lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
· Move and transport tables, chairs, equipment, and supplies for events and daily operations
· Perform tasks requiring physical endurance for extended periods
V. Schedule and Hours:
- Full-time (40 hours) Monday through Friday
- Schedule will include evenings and weekends based on church events and operational needs
Pay: $20.00 per hour
