Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting the developmental needs of children in a combined third/fourth classroom. This role requires a strong Christian faith and a background in early childhood education and classroom management. The Teacher will collaborate with colleagues, communicate effectively with parents, and implement educational strategies aligned with best practices in childhood development.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute daily lessons that promote active learning and critical thinking skills.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques to create a safe and nurturing environment.
- Support intervention initiatives and adapt teaching methods for children with special needs as described in an IEP or 504 plan.
- Assess student progress through observations, standardized testing, and formative assessments; adjust instruction accordingly.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to support child welfare and holistic development.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress reports, and other documentation required by the institution.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a respectful, inclusive classroom culture.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education standards.
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Ability to design engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and other core subjects.
- Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention programs, and accommodations for diverse learners.
