Job Summary
The Children’s Ministry Volunteer Coordinator will report directly to the Children’s Ministry Director, and is responsible for providing a positive, welcoming atmosphere for all Children’s Ministry volunteers. He or she will manage volunteer scheduling to ensure adequate classroom coverage to allow for consistent teaching of God’s Word to the children at Cornerstone Chapel in a safe and loving environment. He or she will seek to perform all duties as unto the Lord, relying on the Holy Spirit for guidance, and completing all tasks with excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience
Minimum five (2) years of administrative or coordinate experience with increasing responsibility in a professional environment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Adept at technology and able to quickly learn new software systems
Superior organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks
Persistence, resourcefulness, drive and ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent interpersonal skills and the flexibility to accommodate individuals in varying situations and with varying temperaments
Technologies
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT, and Outlook (e-mail & calendaring)
Hands on experience with systems commonly used in an office environment (i.e. phones, copiers, printers, etc.)
Physical Capabilities
Able to sit for extended periods of time in front of a computer
Able to bend, kneel, squat and crouch to file materials
Able to lift up to 25lbs

Job Functions and Tasks
Essential Functions – Volunteer Coordinator
Work with the Director of the Children’s Ministry to develop a Christ-centered, positive environment that values volunteers service
Manages the long term and short-term scheduling of roughly 500 volunteers for Wednesday and Sunday services
Communications via text, email and phone to schedule volunteers
Prepares and sends mass volunteer communication emails as needed
Maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information
Process all new volunteer interest forms and coordinate volunteer trainings
Run background check and send CPR/AED certification reminders
Assist with Children’s Ministry classrooms before, during and after service times
Conducts volunteer trainings including planning and executions
Establishes and attends volunteer development and monthly appreciation
Follow up with welcome or thank you cards to all volunteers
Prepares and sends monthly volunteer newsletter email
Assists with high level Children’s Ministry Events including VBS
Administrative tasks as necessary including preparing volunteer badges, printing schedules and other tasks as necessary
