Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable Temporary Shift Lead to support our bakery operations for an estimated period of 3-6 months, with the potential for permanent placement based on the bakery's needs and employee performance. This role involves assisting with daily opening procedures, managing front counter activities, and ensuring smooth operational flow. The Shift Lead will provide friendly, efficient customer service, handle cash register and POS transactions, and support food prep, stocking, cleaning, and closing duties. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong managerial communication skills and a professional approach to customer concerns.
Responsibilities
- Assist in opening procedures and prepare the bakery for daily operations
- Manage front counter activities, including helping customers with packing pastries and providing excellent service
- Handle customer concerns professionally and communicate any issues to management promptly
- Operate POS systems accurately for register transactions and cash handling
- Support food preparation, stocking shelves, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the shift
- Assist with closing duties to ensure the bakery is prepared for the next day
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding operational concerns or needs
- Ensure a friendly, welcoming environment for all customers and staff
