Consultant | Contracts

As an Entry-Level Contracts Consultant in Cornerstone Advisors’ Contracts Solutions Group, you will begin your consulting career working alongside experienced technology contract negotiators who serve small to medium-sized banks and credit unions nationwide. You’ll gain hands-on experience in financial analysis, vendor research, contract review, and client communications, building the skills needed to guide clients through high-value, complex technology contract negotiations. This role is designed for recent graduates in business, finance, economics, or related fields who are detail-oriented, eager to learn, and motivated to help financial institutions achieve optimal business outcomes.

Essential Functions:

Knowledge & Skills Development:

• Build foundational knowledge of banking technology vendors, contract structures, and negotiation strategies.
• Learn to analyze financial data, operational impacts, and vendor proposals.
• Develop skills in contract terms review, comparative pricing analysis, and client-facing communication.

Research & Analysis:

• Assist in preparing financial models based on client invoices, contracts, and surveys.
• Perform comparative research on technology contracts and pricing in the banking sector.
• Gather and analyze market data to support negotiation strategies.

Client & Team Support:

• Participate in client calls, vendor meetings, and project planning sessions
• Draft and edit client deliverables, including summaries, recommendations, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate schedules, manage meeting logistics, and ensure timely follow-up on project action items.

Business Impact:

• Support consulting teams in delivering measurable results that improve client outcomes.
• Help identify cost-saving opportunities, contractual risk mitigation strategies, and operational improvements.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to learn contract management tools and data visualization platforms.
• Basic understanding of financial modeling and data interpretation.

Education & Experience:

• Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Demonstrated interest in consulting, financial services, or contract negotiations through internships, coursework, or project
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to the financial services or technology vendor landscape a plus.
  • Experience in research, analysis, or client service environments.
