Restaurant Host @ The Corner Kitchen

We are a family-owned restaurant located in Asheville, NC. We are searching for dynamic people to join our Host staff. Individuals must be proficient in a high volume environment.

Corner Kitchen is located in a 125 year old Richard Sharpe Smith Victorian House. Known as “Asheville’s most surprising restaurant”, we handcraft our food using as much local produce and proteins as possible. We touch on many of the cuisines found throughout this country. Open 7 days a week for Brunch from 9am - 2pm and for dinner from 5pm on. Located at 3 Boston Way, 28803. https://thecornerkitchen.com/

Must be available to work evenings and weekends.

Host Description:
This is a mentally challenging job that allows you to use creative skills to work through the jig-saw puzzle that is putting reservations at different tables in the restaurant. This is a great position for someone interested in the inner-workings of a restaurant and/or someone who is interested in a challenging job that can provide logistics/communication skills that translate well into almost every other field.
The role of a restaurant host is two-fold: To ensure the guest is greeted, seated and served, and ensuring that guests enjoy an excellent experience. The behind the scenes stuff is more interesting. Working the reservation system so that tables get sat appropriately during a busy shift while also being the first face that every person walking in the door sees can be challenging to navigate. In order to do this job well, a host often has to be engaging and genuinely interested in the success of the establishment.
