Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Resident Care Attendant to provide exceptional support and care to residents in a long-term care or assisted living environment. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, ensure their safety and well-being, and foster a warm, respectful atmosphere. Your positive attitude and attention to detail will help enhance the quality of life for our elderly residents, many of whom may have cognitive or physical disabilities. The ability to work rotating hours, including overnight shifts is required.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document medication administration accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Provide companionship and engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines, assist with feeding when needed, and maintain cleanliness in dining areas
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control procedures, cleaning protocols, and safety standards such as First Aid procedures
Skills
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members
- Physical stamina to assist with mobility support and perform cleaning duties as required
- Familiarity with group home experience, behavioral management strategies, and long-term care best practices
