What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Assistant for Research Farm position at Cornell University Agricultural Experiment Station?
Cornell AgriTech, a research farm in Geneva, NY is seeking an experienced Field Assistant II.
Must have: At least 6 months of agricultural, construction or industrial equipment operation.
Must be able to:
· Communicate effectively with stakeholders, management, and staff
· Work independently providing excellent agronomic control of targeted pests
· Perform multitude of crop production practices
· Operate a variety of different tractors, sprayers, spreaders, mowers, and other tractor mounted implements
· Install irrigation and drainage, assist in facilitating irrigation needs
· Participate in integrated pest management efforts
· Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers
Must have, or be willing to obtain, a New York State (NYS) Commercial Pesticide License category 1A
