Cornell Pump Company is seeking a full-time Pump Test Mechanic to work in our Testing Department in the Clackamas, OR location.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined professional who enjoys working with complex systems, takes pride in hands-on testing, and thrives on problem-solving in a collaborative technical environment.

The hourly pay range for this position is $23.00-$28.00 (DOE)

          SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

          In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring the quality and performance of our pumps by setting up equipment, running tests, and reviewing results with engineers. You’ll also gain hands-on experience with light pump assembly and support the team during peak production times—making a direct impact on products that serve industries worldwide.

          What You'll Do: 

          • Assists in the process of RMA evaluation and processing.
          • Computer abilities such as MS Office, ERP systems, creating work orders, and processing RMA documentation.
          • Design and build test loops in preparation for pump testing
          • Set up pumps for performance testing
          • Examine parts for conformance with dimensional specifications with measuring tools such as dial indicators or calipers
          • Confers with engineering personnel to resolve fabrication problems relating to design specifications and to review test plans
          • Activates controls to apply electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical power and subject the test item to successive steps in the test cycle
          • Monitors, controls, and instruments and records test data for the engineer's review
          • Test Lab maintenance & improvement
          • Keeps machines and work area clean and free of debris.
          • Able to operate a forklift, overhead crane, and other lifting devices
          • Follow all safety precautions and practice safe working habits.

           QUALIFICATIONS:

          EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE: 

          Two years of minimum related Mechanical Experience (required)

          2-year degree or certificate in Mechanical Engineering Technology, CAD, Automotive Technology, or related field (preferred)

           OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

          • Mechanical ability, teamwork, and computer skills.
          • Experience in using tools like calipers, hydraulic templates, and other lab equipment.
          • Knowledge of safety practices and lifting device operation.
          • Able to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other lifting devices.
