Industrial Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities:

• Consistently demonstrate safety as the highest priority and perform all duties in accordance with Environmental, Health and Safety rules and regulations
• Assemble equipment and weld using schematics, blueprints and written repair manuals
• Perform plant related repairs to keep the production process flowing as part of the maintenance team
• Troubleshoot, schedule and perform preventative and predictive equipment repairs
• Transfer materials using various mobile equipment
• Maintain a clean work environment
• Take elective cross training throughout the maintenance department
• Communicate with Operators, Lead Millwright, Maintenance Supervisor, Purchasing, Safety and Production Managers
• Record detailed maintenance work and safety requests via our work order system
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Operate welding equipment and tools, such as Stick, Mig and Tig experience preferred
• Proven experience as a Welder and Fitter
• Knowledge of different welding materials, including steel and stainless steel
• Machining experience is a plus
• Experience with equipment such as lathe, drill press, mill, etc.
• Strong time management
• Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and can deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events
• Knowledge of maintenance equipment and tools
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Team player who develops rapport with others, has good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work Overtime, weekends and after hours as needed.
• Ability to be on call nights and weekends as scheduled

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 2 years general maintenance, welding or machining experience preferred
• Knowledge of building structure repair and machinery fabrication preferred

• Machining: 1 year (Preferred)
• Mechanical knowledge: 2 years (Required)
• Welding: 2 years (Preferred)
• Millwright or Mechanic: 2 years (Preferred)
