Electrical Engineer

Title: Electrical Engineer                                                                                                 Location: Mundelein, IL

Group: Carter Hoffmann; Doyon/NU-VU                                                                     Reports to: Engineering Lead

Company Overview:

A leading manufacturing company dedicated to delivering high-quality products, Carter Hoffmann is an industry expert in food holding and transporting solutions. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

·      Thorough knowledge on electrical principles & theoretical understanding about electrical schematics.

·      Understanding and implementing electrical design from proof-of-concept stage to final technical drawings.

·      Analyze and interpret project requirements, technical specifications, and regulatory standards to ensure compliance.

·      Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and improve electrical systems for manufacturing processes.

·      Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of electrical components to ensure reliability and efficiency.

·      Collaborate with mechanical engineers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.

·      Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies to propose innovative solutions for continuous improvement.

·      Provide technical support during the manufacturing process and assist in resolving any electrical issues that may arise.

·      Ensure adherence to safety protocols, industry standards, and regulatory requirements in all electrical engineering activities.

·      Willing to play a key role in discussions with electrical component suppliers for defining specification of components used in the product system.

·      Willing to travel based on project requirements to customers/suppliers.

 

Qualifications

 

·      Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

·      Functional knowledge of various electrical engineering principles, including:

o  Solid foundation in embedded system design and development processes.

o  Hardware schematics, data sheets and electrical components that are part of an electrical system.

o  Electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and data acquisition systems.

·      Proficient skills in the C programming language for control systems.

·      Experience programming and debugging embedded Electronics Hardware & Software.

·      Knowledge of higher-layer protocols such as TCP/IP, MODBUS, CANBUS.

·      Demonstrable skills in creating formalized specification documentation, program flow charts, and operation manuals.

·      Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

·      Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

·      Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed largely in office and manufacturing environments. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours with at least 40 hours a week but may vary according to special projects, deadlines, or other concerns. Ability to lift 40-50 lbs. and a variety of postures (bending, stooping, etc.) when handling product while training or investigating technical issues.
