Senior Software QA/CI Automation Lead

Cornelis Networks
Boston, MA Full Time
POSTED ON 6/7/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 7/5/2026
Cornelis Networks delivers high-performance scale-out networking solutions for AI and HPC datacenters. Our differentiated architecture integrates hardware, software, and system-level technologies to maximize the efficiency of GPU, CPU, and accelerator-based compute clusters at scale. Our solutions help customers push the boundaries of AI and HPC by eliminating bottlenecks and enabling massive-scale training, inference, simulation, and data-intensive workloads.

We are a fast-growing team of architects, engineers, and business professionals with a proven track record of building successful products and companies. As a global organization, our team spans multiple U.S. states and six countries, and we continue to expand with exceptional talent in onsite, hybrid, and remote roles.

Cornelis Networks is seeking an experienced Senior Software QA engineer to lead our CI test automation effort for high-performance networking products. This role will own the strategy, architecture, monitoring, and day-to-day improvement of automated CI validation, including test framework development, pipeline reliability, failure triage, reporting, and continuous improvement across multiple products and validation cycles.

As a key member of the software team, you will help move system and component validation from manual or semi-automated workflows toward scalable, repeatable, high-signal automated testing. You will build Python-based test frameworks, expand automated regression coverage, improve Jenkins-based pipelines, and partner with engineering teams to make CI results trusted, actionable, and central to release decisions.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on automation leader who can architect robust validation infrastructure, debug difficult failures across system and network layers, mentor engineers on automation practices, and continuously improve the speed, reliability, and quality signal of the CI testing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Automated QA

Own the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of automated QA for embedded system, integration, network, and software system testing.

Drive Test Infrastructure

Drive the architecture and feature set of the CI test infrastructure, including agentic requirements, hardware requirements, test harnesses, fixtures, reporting utilities, and framework extensions.

Build Reliable Regression Coverage

Convert cross-team tests and recurring debug workflows into automated regression suites that provide reliable quality signal across products and validation cycles.

Improve CI/CD Pipeline Quality

Configure, maintain, and improve CI/CD systems; monitor results, reduce flaky tests, improve signal-to-noise ratio, and strengthen pipeline reliability.

Own Agentic Failure Triage and Debug Workflows

Lead CI failure triage by specifying and developing AI agents(s) that can distinguish infrastructure issues, test defects, configuration problems, and product defects, then driving issues through resolution.

Define Quality Gates and Reporting

Partner with software, systems, network, and product engineering teams to define validation coverage, release-readiness criteria, dashboards, status reporting, and actionable CI metrics.

Drive Cross-Team Validation Alignment

Collaborate across engineering teams to align validation plans with key feature delivery dates, product milestones, defect priorities, and release commitments.

Champion AI-Assisted Development

Evaluate and promote AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, test reviews, documentation, and workflow improvements that increase development velocity and code quality.

Continuously Improve Validation Practices

Identify gaps in automation coverage, CI infrastructure, documentation, and validation processes; propose practical solutions and drive improvements through completion.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software QA, system validation, test automation, CI automation, integration testing, or related engineering roles.
  • Hands-on experience building, maintaining, or improving CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience leading automated regression strategy, CI test development, failure triage, or pipeline quality improvement efforts.
  • Experience with system-level or integration-level software validation.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across software, system, network, configuration, infrastructure, or test automation layers.
  • Working knowledge of version control software such as Git.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
  • Experience collaborating across engineering teams to turn requirements, defects, and debug workflows into automated validation coverage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior QA leadership experience, such as Head of QA, QA Manager, SQA Manager, validation lead, CI automation lead, or technical test lead.
  • Experience establishing QA processes, test strategy, defect triage workflows, quality metrics, and release-readiness reporting.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools for code generation, debugging, test reviews, documentation, or workflow acceleration.
  • Experience using Ansible for configuration management and deployment.
  • Familiarity with Agile practices such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and technical guidance within scrum teams.
  • Experience with Ethernet networking protocols and standards, including IEEE 802.3 and high-performance network protocols such as InfiniBand, Omni-Path, and RoCE.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
