Summary of Position:

Perform task required to prepare all pies and bakery items to Corky's standards. Establish and monitor portion and waste control and maintain pars. Ensure that work area and storage locations are clean and well organized. Looking for a qualified Baker with at least one year of experience. Further details in store.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Take daily inventory of pies to maintain par levels. Discard pies that have passed the standard shelf life, logging and reporting all waste to the manager or supervisor on duty.

Prepare signature and seasonal bakery goods following the correct procedures Prepare all specialty bakery goods using proper standards.

Prepare and bake all bakery products. Measure or weigh flour or other ingredients to prepare batters, doughs, fillings, or icings, using scales or graduated containers.

Measure ingredients or substances to be used in production processes.

Combine measured ingredients in bowls of mixing, blending, or cooking machinery.

Check the quality of raw materials to ensure that standards and specifications are met.

Adapt the quantity of ingredients to match the number of items to be baked.

Roll, knead, cut, or shape dough to form sweet rolls, pie crusts, cookies, or other products.

Observe color of products being baked and adjust oven temperatures, humidity, or conveyor speeds accordingly.

Apply glazes, icings, or other toppings to baked goods, using spatulas or brushes.

Decorate baked goods, such as cakes or cookies.

Label and date each pie and store appropriate to standard.

Ensure pre-order bakery orders are checks and ready for guest pick-up.

Report to work in a neat and clean uniform with well-groomed hair and acceptable personal hygiene. Consistently report or shifts as scheduled and be on time.

Set time and speed controls for mixing machines or blending machines so that ingredients will be mixed or cooked according to instructions.

Place dough in pans, molds, or on sheets and bake in production ovens or on grills.

Set oven temperatures and place items into hot ovens for baking.

Adjust temperature controls of ovens or other heating equipment

Ensure that pie cases are full, and attractively decorated.

Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper functioning.

Clean production equipment.

Order or receive materials, supplies or equipment.

Record operational or production data.

Develop new recipes for baked goods.

Develop and maintain professional functional working relationship with guest and employees.

Complete all assigned side work by the end of your shift, check out with the manager before clocking out.

Other duties may be assigned when not already occupied with the above functions.

Have the ability to obtain and maintain a state/county applicable food handlers card.

Responsible to contribute and participate in our Injury and Illness Prevention Program.

Qualifications:

Ability to recognize order codes and product and comprehend simple instructions.

Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers using units of weight, measurement, and volume.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, or oral, form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in situations.

Speak clearly and persuasively in both positive and negative situations. Listen and get clarification. Respond well to questions. Speak effectively with guests, coworkers and management.

Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.

Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).

Be able to safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
