Responsibilities
- Lead congregational singing during worship services, ensuring an inclusive and energetic atmosphere
- Select appropriate music that aligns with the service theme and congregation’s spiritual needs
- Manage musical productions, including rehearsals, sound checks, and coordination with other worship team members
- Provide vocal training and mentorship to choir members or volunteer singers to enhance their skills and confidence
- Read sheet music and utilize musical arrangements to deliver polished performances
- Foster a welcoming environment by mentoring new volunteers and encouraging active participation in worship activities
- Communicate effectively with church staff, musicians, and volunteers to coordinate schedules and service plans
Skills
- Strong background in teaching vocal techniques and managing musical productions
- Proficiency in reading sheet music and selecting appropriate worship music
- Experience in nonprofit faith-based organizations is highly desirable
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor others
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members and congregation members
- Knowledge of vocal training methods to develop singers of varying skill levels
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude
