What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machinist position at Corfu Machine Co., Inc.?
We are a hydraulic repair shop looking for a motivated individual with machining experience and mechanical abilities. We are looking to hire a MANUAL MACHINIST. We don't do high production, we are a JOB SHOP. We work with metal and repair hydraulic cylinders.
Individual (MACHINIST) must be able to operate an engine lathe and a milling machine. Engine lathe duties would include threading, grooving, turning and boring as well as indicating the parts or material before machining. Milling machine duties would include drilling and tapping holes, milling keyways, etc. Individual (MACHINIST) would be required to make and read drawings of the parts that they make. Also would be required to keep track of their time spent on jobs by using a time card. We machine a lot of mild steel, ductile iron, and bronze materials. CNC experience is a plus but not required. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Pay based on experience. Must be a team player that works well with others.
