EEG Technician

Job Summary

The EEG Technician is an entry to mid-level position that performs EEG procedures according to department and Corewell Health policy and procedures.

Essential Functions

• Performs patient assessment as it relates to electrode fixation product allergies, movement restrictions, and cognitive function.
• Knows and recognizes drug and physiological status effects on activity monitored.
• Electrode application and maintenance in adherence with the International 10-20 System.
• Knowledgeable in correct EEG equipment performance and recognition of clinically significant events.
• Basic and intermediate technical troubleshooting, artifact identification and elimination.
• Continues to learn and apply basic and intermediate EEG waveform recognition.
• All duties and responsibilities of neurodiagnostic assistant

Qualifications

Required

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred Associate's Degree or equivalent Graduate from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Program.

• 6 months of relevant experience Neurodiagnostic/EEG experience Required

• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
