Scope of Work
Under direct supervision, the Associate Special Procedure Tech provides direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures to assist physicians and delivers quality patient/family centered care. The incumbent may be required to perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, document procedures, vascular access site management, and provide patient/family education.

The incumbent may be required to perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, document procedures, vascular access site management, and provide patient/family education.
Qualifications
- Required Interventional Radiology requires completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT).
- Required associate’s degree or equivalent-Cath Lab/EP Lab requires employee to be a graduate of a Cardiovascular Technologist program, associate degree in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training and/or education.
- Required Clinical experience required through graduation of one of the above listed programs.
- Preferred Experience in EP, Cath Lab or IR.
- Employees being considered for Interventional Radiology it is recommended that they have previous experience as Radiology or Interventional Tech.
- Required -Basic computer skills, math skills, exceptional communication skills, and outstanding customer service skills.
- Required-Ability to be on site within 30 min for call in tot eh Cath lab IR. Call response time may vary by facility.
- CRT-Vascular International Radiography (VI) -ARRT-American Register of Radiological Technologist IR Required in 2 years
- CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)-American Heart Association Required 180 days from date of hire.
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) -American Heart Association-Upon Hire Required or
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)-American Red Cross-Upon Hire Required.
