About this unit We are a float pool, and our goal is to provide flexible staffing. We provide broad exposure to different patient populations as we support all 36 inpatient nursing units including adults, pediatrics, and women’s health. The advanced capabilities and clinical expertise within this center have earned it Magnet designation four consecutive times and has the distinct honor of housing Michigan’s first Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence Scope of work Under supervision of a Nurse and following hospital policies and procedures, performs various nursing care tasks and treatments on assigned patients. Performs routine bedside nursing activities including bathing and personal grooming of patients; ambulating, moving and turning patients; assisting patients with bedpans or urinary devices; making patient beds and caring for personal property. Assists in performing additional nursing procedures such as catheterizations, suctioning, irrigating colostomies, applying restraints, giving enemas, douches and sitz baths or pericare. Qualifications Currently enrolled and attending an accredited school of registered nursing. May be enrolled in an (accredited) Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program (BSN) or Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) Program. Note: ADN graduates will be required to sign a BSN completion agreement upon hire/placement in a graduate nurse position. Required RN from another state awaiting Michigan Licensure (or) Graduate Nurse from accredited school of nursing awaiting retake of NCLEX or awaiting results of the last exam. Required Transcripts must be provided at the time of hire and may be requested for review periodically. Required High School Diploma Requires evidence of successful completion of adult medical-surgical rotations – theory and clinical.
