What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cataloger position at Corestaff Services?
Corestaff, a Swipejobs company, is seeking a Cataloger to fulfil a 6-month contract assignment with its clients, which is one of the most prestigious museums in the country. An ideal candidate will possess a Master's in Library Science along with at least 4 years of experience working in a library or museum as a cataloger.
Duties include:
- Catalog name list materials in the HSV database. These lists will be found in archival collections within the organization’s holdings, which have been indexed.
- Review current catalog records to ensure completeness and accuracy of records.
- Correct mistakes and add missing information as required.
- Review collections to see if they contain names list materials and are appropriate for indexing and cataloging.
- Assist in testing of the new Database. Ensure that previous data was migrated correctly.
- Help develop training materials for the new database.
Duration: As soon as possible until September 30, 2025.
Schedule: Remote work schedule shall be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mon through Fri
Pay: $32.00 per hour
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 4 years of experience cataloging or similar work experience along with a MLS or MLIS
- Experience adhering to metadata standards
- Strong written communication skills
- Experience working in a library, museum, or archives setting
- Familiarity with Holocaust history
- Knowledge of archival cataloging and arrangement standards
- Familiarity with Eastern European languages
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Cyrillic or Hebraic alphabets
