Duties
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures by preparing equipment, restraining animals, and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques.
- Handle a variety of animals including dogs, cats, and rabbits with care and confidence, ensuring their safety and comfort through proper animal restraint and behavior management.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness of the clinic to promote optimal health standards.
- Support laboratory work by collecting samples, performing basic tests, and recording results accurately for diagnostic purposes.
- Administer medications under supervision.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up appointments while demonstrating excellent client service skills.
Qualifications
- Prior veterinary clinic experience is highly desirable; strong animal handling skills are essential.
- Experience with dog handling or animal restraint techniques will set you apart.
- Ability to perform cleaning duties diligently while adhering to personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols for safety.
- Record keeping, medication administration, laboratory procedures, and basic surgical support tasks are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members in a professional manner.
- A proactive attitude with a passion for animal welfare and continuous learning in veterinary practices.
