What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Director position at CORE?
CORE is looking for a Project Director to oversee a staff of Construction Project Managers and Superintendents managing large scale commercial construction projects throughout California. The Project Director will oversee multiple large-scale preconstruction and construction phase projects and staff members for a wide range of institutional clients, including colleges, universities, K-12 districts, municipalities, healthcare systems and more.
The Project Director will be expected to serve all existing clients’ needs as it pertains to their projects in preconstruction, construction and warranty. He/she will also maintain staffing levels on CORE’s projects, and lead all training/mentoring of our project teams and field staff. Additionally, he/she will contribute to client service and business development, helping to ensure our company for future work with new and existing clients. This may include attending events and outings with clients, architects and trade partners to help build and maintain relationships.

- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a construction project manager, and specific experience managing commercial construction
- Professional Degree in construction management, architecture or a related field (mechanical or civil engineering, construction tech, interior design, business administration) is preferred
- Detailed understanding of construction project sequencing and scheduling
- Advanced understanding of drawings and specifications as well as constructability
- Ability to negotiate, write and execute all subcontract agreements
- Willingness to relocate to or near the Sacramento area
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
- Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel & Outlook), MS Project and Procore
- Experience with CMAR and/or Design/Build delivery methods
- Must work well in a team environment and be committed to client service
- A valid Driver’s License
- This is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act and employee is not eligible for overtime compensation.
